Speed Revolution: Patna Junction Trains to Soar with Modernized Coaches

In a bid to boost the speed and efficiency of trains departing from Patna Junction, a transformative initiative is underway to replace old coaches with modern Vande Bharat-style coaches, capable of running at speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour. This ambitious project is set to elevate the travel experience and reduce transit time for passengers on key routes originating from Patna.

The upgrade will significantly impact a range of crucial train services departing from Patna Junction, including Rajendra Nagar-ALD Junction, Danapur-Pune, Patliputra-ALD Junction, Vikramshila Express, Magadh, Islampur-Hatia, Danapur Jan Sadharan, Shramjeevi, Patna-Kota, Punjab Mail, Archana, Haridwar HWH-Kumbh, Rajendra Nagar-Durg, Vibhuti Express, and Sampoorna Kranti.

Railway authorities emphasize the necessity of transitioning from old Integral Coach Factory (ICF) coaches to the modern Stainless Steel coaches, echoing the design of Vande Bharat coaches. The shift aims to overcome the limitations of the older ICF coaches, which were constrained to a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour due to their heavier build. This change will not only increase speed but also reduce maintenance costs and enhance seating capacity.

In parallel with the coach replacement initiative, Indian Railways is actively implementing measures to further augment train speeds. This includes the installation of an automatic signaling system and the modernization of railway tracks to ensure a seamless and efficient travel experience.

The new Vande Bharat-style coaches feature automatic doors, akin to those in metro systems, prioritizing passenger safety and convenience. These doors, programmed to open only when the train comes to a complete stop, contribute to the ongoing modernization efforts within the railway sector.
