In a significant announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Maharashtra on February 19, 2024, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, also known as Shiv Jayanti.
The Prime Minister is slated to visit Satara district in Maharashtra on this auspicious occasion. His itinerary involves landing at Pune’s Lohegaon airport from Delhi, followed by a helicopter journey to Satara.
The timing of this visit is crucial as Maharashtra is currently abuzz with discussions around the Maratha reservation. The Maratha community has been actively engaged in conversations about the perception of the BJP government regarding reservation policies. Against this backdrop, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil recently organized a public meeting at Kharadi in Pune.
Despite the ongoing debates, Prime Minister Modi continues to be extended invitations to the state for various events, including Bhoomipujans and development program inaugurations. Over the past few months, the Prime Minister has visited Mumbai, Nashik, and Solapur districts, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the state’s development.
