Pune, August 17, 2023: The upcoming thirty-first Vande Bharat Express train, proudly manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, is poised to make history as India’s first semi-high-speed express train adorned with an eye-catching orange color scheme. The grand unveiling of this distinctive orange Vande Bharat train is scheduled to take place at the Chennai production unit on August 19th. Currently, the country boasts 25 operational Vande Bharat trains, with an additional four trains slated to commence service this month.
Moreover, two more Vande Bharat trains are in advanced stages of production, with the thirty-first train being constructed in accordance with the new and captivating orange color code. Inspired by the iconic Indian national flag, the train’s design features a saffron hue with tasteful green stripes adorning its doors and body. The front portion of the driver cabin is prominently accented with saffron to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
Although the specific destination for the orange Vande Bharat train has yet to be revealed, it is expected that four Vande Bharat trains, originating from Chennai, Patna, and Bangalore, will be inaugurated this month. These trains will each consist of eight coaches. The Indian Railways has invested Rs 1,343.72 crore towards the creation of the remarkable Vande Bharat trains.
Distinguished as India’s first domestically designed and manufactured semi-high-speed trains, the Vande Bharat trains offer passengers a modern and comfortable travel experience. The Vande Bharat trains feature automatic doors, enabling faster acceleration and reaching speeds of up to 160 kmph. Passengers can enjoy enhanced riding comfort with ergonomic seating, including reclining and revolving seats in the executive class. Each seat is equipped with a mobile charging socket, and the train includes a mini pantry equipped with a hot case, bottle cooler, deep freezer, and hot water boiler. For added safety, the coaches are equipped with emergency windows, fire extinguishers, and CCTVs.
