Milestone Moment: Jammu & Kashmir Witnesses Inauguration of First Electric Train by PM Modi

In a historic event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first electric train in Jammu & Kashmir, marking a significant leap forward in the region’s transportation infrastructure. The inauguration ceremony took place between Sangaldan and Baramulla stations, symbolizing a transformative moment for the local populace.

During his visit to Jammu, the Prime Minister not only inaugurated the electric train but also launched a comprehensive train service connecting Sangaldan station to Baramulla station. This move is anticipated to enhance connectivity and accessibility for the residents of the region.

In addition to the transportation milestone, Prime Minister Modi initiated several crucial development projects, amounting to an investment of over 32,000 crores. These projects spanned key sectors such as education, railways, aviation, and roads, reflecting the government’s commitment to comprehensive growth in Jammu & Kashmir.

One noteworthy initiative involved the distribution of appointment orders to 1,500 newly recruited individuals for various positions within the Jammu and Kashmir government, contributing to employment opportunities and economic development.

The visit also witnessed the laying of the foundation stone for a modern terminal building at Jammu Airport, signaling a new era for air travel in the region. The Prime Minister underscored his commitment to Jammu & Kashmir by dedicating several rail projects, including the new Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan rail line spanning 48 km and the electrified Baramulla-Srinagar-Banihal-Sangaldan section covering 185.66 km.

The public program in Jammu culminated in the felicitation of Prime Minister Modi by Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha, highlighting the collaborative efforts towards the region’s progress. The event served as a testament to the government’s dedication to fostering comprehensive development and connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir.
