In a heartfelt initiative coinciding with the ongoing Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the launch of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. This noble endeavor seeks to pay tribute to the immortal martyred men and women who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s freedom and security.
As part of the campaign, a series of programs will be organized across the nation to honor these bravehearts. To ensure their memory lives on, special inscriptions will be installed in lakhs of village panchayats throughout the country. This solemn gesture aims to immortalize the indomitable spirit of those who selflessly served the nation.
One of the most symbolic elements of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign is the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra.’ This unique journey will carry soil from 7500 locations representing every corner of India to Delhi. Alongside the soil, saplings from diverse regions of the country will also accompany the procession. The soil and saplings will be utilized to create the ‘Amrit Vatika’ near the National War Memorial, symbolizing the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ – a united and prosperous India.
The ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program is an essential aspect of the campaign, aiming to foster interaction and promote mutual understanding among people from different states and Union Territories through state/UT pairing. This initiative seeks to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of India while fostering national unity and integration.
During his address on ‘Mann ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the significance of the ongoing rainy season for both tree plantation and water conservation efforts. As part of the ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ over 60 thousand Amrit Sarovars have already been built, radiating their brilliance across the nation. Additionally, plans are underway to construct over 50 thousand more Amrit Sarovars. These efforts reflect the active engagement of citizens in novel initiatives for water conservation, demonstrating a strong sense of awareness and responsibility towards safeguarding the environment.
