Raigad District Administration Implements Closure for Infrastructure Upgrades
In response to ongoing road repair and infrastructure enhancement works, the Raigad district administration has announced the temporary closure of Varandha Ghat Road for all vehicular traffic, effective from April 8 to May 30, 2024.
The decision, communicated by the Collector of Raigad, Kishan Javale, underscores the necessity for construction activities aimed at widening the road, installing protective barriers, and implementing crucial safety measures along Varandha Ghat.
A notification has been issued, indicating the complete closure of Varandha Ghat Road for all types of vehicles during the specified period to ensure the safety of commuters and facilitate uninterrupted construction efforts.
To mitigate inconvenience caused by the closure, alternative routes have been suggested for travelers. Those heading towards Pune are encouraged to take the Rajewadi Phata-Mangaon-Nizampur Road-Tamhani Ghat-Mulshi Pirangut Pune route. Similarly, travelers bound for Kolhapur can opt for the Rajewadi Phata-Poladpur-Khed-Chiplun-Patan-Karad-Kolhapur route.
The temporary closure of Varandha Ghat Road aligns with the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and road safety, aiming to enhance connectivity and ensure smoother travel experiences for commuters in the future.
