Shivneri Buses Soon to Ply via Atal Setu, Easing Travel Between Mumbai and Pune

Jan-Shivneri Bus Service

In a bid to streamline travel between Mumbai and Pune, the State Transport Corporation is contemplating running the popular Shivneri bus via Atal Setu. The proposed route aims to enhance passenger convenience and reduce travel time between the two bustling cities.

The Shivneri bus, known for its efficiency and comfort, will now have the option to traverse via Atal Setu, accommodating approximately 45 passengers per trip. This move is expected to significantly cut down the Mumbai-Pune Shivneri bus travel time, offering a faster and more convenient commute for passengers.

To gather valuable insights and preferences, the State Transport Corporation has initiated a survey, seeking input from potential passengers. The proposal suggests the route will encompass Nhava-Sheva Atal Setu, and discussions are underway regarding additional Shivneri stops, toll structures, and the overall viability of operating the service along this route.

Pending successful talks and positive survey feedback, the ST Corporation plans to conduct a trial run of the Mumbai-Pune Shivneri bus via Atal Setu. This strategic move aims to optimize the route for passengers’ benefit.

The formula proposed by ST Corporation suggests that if at least 45 passengers are on board when the Shivneri bus departs from Mumbai, it will travel via Atal Setu. This shift could potentially slash the journey time between Mumbai and Pune by over an hour, marking a significant improvement in commuter experience.

During the trial phase, one ferry will depart from Atal Setu for each Shivneri bus trip from Mumbai to Pune. According to ST officials, the Shivneri bus’s updated itinerary will cover Dadar, Shivadi, Atal Setu, Ulve, Panvel, and Pune, ensuring an efficient and streamlined travel experience for passengers.
