Ayodhya’s Grand Diwali: India Prepares for World’s Largest Celebration on January 22, 2024

In a monumental announcement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has revealed India’s ambitious plan to host the world’s largest Diwali celebration in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. The grand event is expected to draw 1.5 lakh devotees from Maharashtra over the next eight months, showcasing a remarkable spectacle at the Shri Ram temple.

The declaration was made during a ceremony dedicated to honoring contributors to the ‘Selfie with Meri Mati’ initiative, a part of ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh,’ in collaboration with the Department of Higher and Technical Education and National Service Scheme (NSS). This initiative recently achieved recognition in the Guinness World Records for its outstanding participation.

During the ceremony, Bawankule commended Rajesh Pandey for overseeing the organization of darshan for 1.5 lakh devotees to the Shri Ram temple. He underscored the dedication of the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ initiative, honoring those who sacrificed for the country, with 1.4 crore citizens participating nationwide. The Maharashtra-recorded ‘Selfie with Meri Mati’ world record received accolades.

State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil expressed joy at surpassing China through the ‘Selfie with Meri Mati’ world record activity. The event included the felicitation of those who played a pivotal role in securing the world record.

Rajesh Pandey shared insights into the achievement, revealing that nearly 25 lakh citizens submitted selfies for consideration, and about 10 lakh 42 thousand selfies were ultimately recognized for the world record. The program was moderated by Dr. Sanjay Chakane.
