Kaas Plateau Blossoms with Record Visitors in 2023

Nestled in the heart of Pune, the annual Kaas Flower Festival has always been a natural spectacle to behold. However, this year’s festival took an unexpected turn, concluding fifteen days earlier than usual due to a scarcity of precipitation in late September and early October. Traditionally spanning two months, the festival was notably shortened, lasting only 43 days.

Despite the curtailed schedule, 2023 witnessed an unprecedented surge in tourist footfall and revenue compared to the previous year. According to Kaas Plateau officials, the festival drew an astonishing one lakh visitors this year, and the combined sales of tickets and parking generated a staggering Rs 1.5 crore.

The official flowering season at Kaas Plateau commenced on September 3, 2023. Both online and offline bookings provided access to tourists keen to explore the natural beauty on offer. On weekends, the plateau experienced a remarkable influx of visitors, with batches of 3,000 tickets selling out in mere minutes.

To put this into perspective, last year, the plateau welcomed approximately 61,000 visitors, resulting in revenue close to 70 lakhs. However, in a remarkable turn of events, Kaas Plateau saw over 1 lakh visitors in 2023, translating to an estimated revenue of about 1.5 crores.

This unprecedented interest and financial influx have cemented Kaas Plateau’s reputation as a sought-after natural wonder, even in a year with climatic challenges that led to the festival’s early conclusion. Nature enthusiasts and tourists alike continue to flock to this picturesque destination, testament to the enduring allure of the Kaas Flower Festival.
