The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for taxpayers to connect their permanent account number (PAN) with their Aadhaar number until June 30, 2023. It is obligatory for all taxpayers to finish the connecting procedure, since failure to do so would result in the PAN becoming inactive on July 1, 2023.
Because PAN is the single identifying number for all securities transactions, the capital markets regulator Sebi has also instructed current investors to connect their PAN with their Aadhaar number in order to continue performing securities transactions.
