Empowering Women: Ladli Behna Yojana Provides Financial Support and Opportunities

The Ladli Behna Yojana, a transformative initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government, has taken a significant step forward with the commencement of its second phase on July 25, 2023. This ambitious scheme, introduced earlier this year, aims to empower women financially by providing them with crucial financial support.

To extend the reach and impact of the program, the eligibility criteria have been thoughtfully relaxed, allowing more women and daughters to benefit from its provisions. Eligible applicants can now submit their applications at five designated locations. Qualified members, upon approval, receive a monthly transfer of Rs 1,000 directly into their bank accounts, providing them with the much-needed financial assistance.

The Ladli Behna Yojana was officially launched on March 15, 2023, with the noble objective of empowering daughters and women with financial strength. Already, the scheme has disbursed funds twice, benefiting an impressive 1.25 crore eligible beneficiaries. Now, with the commencement of the second phase on July 25, the program aims to reach out to more women who were previously unable to avail of its benefits.

In a recent announcement, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared the reopening of registrations for the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana. This time, the scheme has expanded its reach to include sisters aged between 21 to 23 years who own tractors. These eligible individuals now have the opportunity to benefit from the Ladli Behna Yojana. Notably, during the first phase of applications, tractor owners were not considered, but now they are actively encouraged to participate.

With revised eligibility conditions, the application process for the Ladli Behna Yojana has been made more accessible. Individuals from various categories, including general category, other backward castes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, minorities, women, abandoned women, and widows, are eligible to apply and take advantage of the scheme’s benefits. To be eligible, women must be residents of Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, the age limit for applications has been extended from 21 to 60 years, providing more opportunities for deserving candidates. Previously, the age limit was limited to 23 years.

To apply for the Ladli Behna Yojana, individuals can fill out the application form through offline mode at designated places, including accountants, Panchayat centers, Panchayat Secretaries, Special Camp Offices, and principals.

With the Ladli Behna Yojana, the Madhya Pradesh government continues its unwavering commitment to empowering women and providing them with the necessary financial support to lead fulfilling and prosperous lives. As the scheme progresses, it is expected to make a positive impact on the lives of countless women across the state.
