This sacred pilgrimage, known for its spiritual significance, will kick off on May 25 and culminate on Oct 10, offering devotees a window to embark on this challenging yet spiritually enriching journey.
Spiritual and Physical Journey: Beyond its physical challenges, the Hemkund Sahib Yatra is a profound spiritual journey that attracts devotees from across the nation. Spanning approximately 15 km from Govind Ghat to Hemkund Sahib, situated at an elevation of 15,000 ft, the pilgrimage demands meticulous planning due to the arduous weather conditions and challenging terrain.
Snow-Covered Route Preparation: To ensure a safe passage, army personnel will undertake the task of clearing the snow-covered route approximately one month before the pilgrimage begins. With snow depths ranging from 5 to 8 ft, this preparation is crucial to facilitate a smooth and secure journey for the devotees.
Encouragement for Devotees: Chairman Narinder Jit Singh Bindra emphasized the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage, encouraging interested individuals to make necessary arrangements during the specified period.
