Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar Commends Successful Conduct of Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Programs

In a significant milestone for higher education in India, the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET-PG) exams concluded with an impressive participation of over four lakh students across 253 cities, including international centers.

Chairing the announcement, UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar lauded the successful culmination of the exams, highlighting the extensive reach and substantial number of candidates.

The Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET-PG) exams concluded on a triumphant note, drawing an astounding turnout of over four lakh students across various cities, including international centers. UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar provided insights into the magnitude and significance of the exams, emphasizing their pivotal role in the realm of higher education.

Prof. Kumar disclosed that CUET-PG exams were conducted across 565 centers spanning 253 cities, with participation from nine international locations. Held from March 11 to 28, 2024, the exams were administered in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, ensuring a standardized and efficient evaluation process.

The UGC Chairman shed light on the meticulous preparation involved in organizing the exams, including the creation of question papers by a team of 950 experts and 200 translators. Covering a diverse array of subjects, the question papers were intricately crafted to assess candidates’ knowledge and aptitude comprehensively.

The introduction of CUET-PG signifies a paradigm shift in the higher education landscape, aiming to level the playing field for candidates from diverse backgrounds and regions.
