Late Bloomers Welcome: SSC Supplementary Exam Passers Can Apply for FYJC

Good news for students who have successfully cleared the supplementary Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam (Std X) in Maharashtra! The window for applying for a first-year junior college (FYJC) seat has been extended until October 15, offering a lifeline to those who wish to continue their education.

As of the latest update, the Central Admissions Committee has received 2,700 applications from SSC students across the state for this special round of admissions. While the primary phase of FYJC admissions concluded in August, this extension caters specifically to students who have passed the supplementary exams.

The Directorate of Education in Maharashtra has taken proactive steps to facilitate these admissions and ensure that no deserving student misses out on the opportunity to secure admission to FYJC. Rajendra Ahire, the Regional Director of Education, emphasized their commitment by stating, “We have taken information from all colleges and schools regarding their vacancy status. According to the information provided, we will be running this special round and admitting the students.”

This additional round of admissions marks the seventh for the academic year. In the previous round, 2,120 students successfully secured admissions to various colleges across the state, underlining the importance of these extended opportunities for students.

This move by the Directorate of Education is commendable, as it ensures that educational opportunities remain accessible to all, regardless of circumstances. It serves as a reminder of the dedication of educational authorities to provide equal opportunities to students, even when faced with unique challenges.

The extended application deadline until October 15 offers students the chance to pursue their academic aspirations, ensuring that their educational journey remains uninterrupted. It’s a testament to the belief that education is a fundamental right and should be available to all, irrespective of the circumstances.
