Confirmation Deadline for 1 Lakh Engineering Seats Approaches in Centralised Admission Process

In a significant development, the state CET cell recently released the second centralised admission process results for engineering colleges, offering allotments to over one lakh students. Those who have been allotted seats have until August 7 to confirm their positions. However, there are still more than 25,000 students awaiting allotments after the conclusion of the second round.

The admission process began with the first merit list, wherein out of the 1.32 lakh registrations, approximately 1.16 lakh candidates received allotments based on their submitted college preferences. With over 26,000 students left waiting after the first list, the process moved forward to the second round.

The CET cell’s Director, Mahendra Warbhuwan, provided insights into the progress. He mentioned that in the initial round, more than 24,000 students promptly confirmed their admissions. Moreover, a substantial 66,000 students sought to enhance their allotments. Students who have been allocated seats in the second round have until August 7 to finalize their decisions.

The confirmation process involves visiting designated centres and officially securing the allocated seats. Students must carry their marksheets along for verification during the admission process. Looking ahead, the third and final list of allotments is scheduled to be announced on August 12.

This year, the centralised admission process (CAP) covered three courses, including engineering. The CET exams, categorized as PCM (physics, chemistry, and mathematics) and PCB (physics, chemistry, and biology), took place from May 1 to May 12 and from May 15 to May 20, respectively. The solution key for these exams was released on May 26.

As the deadline for confirming seats for the allotted engineering programs draws near, students across the state are eagerly completing the necessary steps to secure their educational futures.
