In an effort to curb the dissemination of false information, the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) has unveiled a list of 30 users on X (formerly Twitter) who are exploiting the name and logo of CBSE to spread invalid news.
CBSE has made it clear that its only authorized account on X is “cbseindia29,” where authentic information is provided to the public. The board has also assured the public that necessary actions are being taken against these fraudulent accounts.
The official statement from CBSE reads, “It has come to the notice of the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) that the following handles have been found using the name and/or logo of CBSE to mislead the general public on X (formerly Twitter).”
In its latest X post, CBSE also emphasized, “CBSE will not be responsible hereinafter for any information given by any other source using the name and logo of CBSE in any of the styles on social media platforms and accessed by the public.”
This cautionary message from CBSE about the proliferation of fake social media accounts underscores the importance of vigilant internet usage, especially during the upcoming board examinations for classes 10th and 12th. Additionally, the board has clarified that no overall divisions, distinctions, or aggregates will be awarded to students this year.
