CAT 2023 Exams Tomorrow: Guidelines, Dress Code, and Essential Dos and Don’ts

Dos and Don’ts for CAT 2023 Exam Day:

  1. Admit Card and ID Proof: The first and foremost step is to obtain the CAT admit card from the official website – iimcat.ac.in. Remember, it’s not just the admit card; a valid photo ID proof is also mandatory for entry. This can include Aadhar card, Electoral ID, Driving License, PAN card, or Passport.
  2. Supporting Documents for Assistance: Students requiring assistance during the exam should carry supporting documents, including an affidavit and medical certificate, validating their need for aid.
  3. Essential Paperwork: Ensure you have all necessary paperwork, including any documents required for name modifications or other prerequisites specified for the CAT 2023 examination day.
  4. CAT 2023 Dress Code: Adherence to the dress code is crucial. The CAT exam hall has specific guidelines, including prohibited items like mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and certain clothing items. Female candidates are advised to avoid fancy accessories, and it’s recommended for all students to wear outfits that are not attention-grabbing.
  5. Medical Certificates for Metal Implants: Students with metal implants or pacemakers must possess the necessary medical certificates to avoid unnecessary scrutiny before the exam.

Dos During the CAT 2023 Exam:

  1. Arrive Early: Ensure you arrive at the test venue before the gate closes to avoid any last-minute hassles.
  2. Utilize Console Tools: Use the mouse at the console to select the appropriate options for multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and the on-screen keyboard for non-MCQs.
  3. Mark Attendance and Sign: Crucially, mark your attendance in the provided form and sign when prompted in the Exam Lab.
  4. Admit Card Submission: After the exam concludes, hand over your signed Admit Card to the invigilator present in the Exam Lab.
  5. Avoid Unnecessary Breaks: While inside the Exam Lab, avoid requesting a break unless it is a medical emergency.
