Ladakh Mishap Claims Lives of Nine Army Soldiers in Heartbreaking Accident

Srinagar, August 20: A devastating road accident in Ladakh has led to the loss of nine soldiers’ lives after an Army vehicle plunged into a deep gorge. The accident occurred approximately 7 kilometers away from Kyari town in Leh district on Saturday. A convoy of three Army vehicles was maneuvering in the area when tragedy struck.

The ill-fated vehicle, carrying ten Army personnel, tumbled into the deep gorge, resulting in the unfortunate demise of nine soldiers and critical injuries to one. Swift rescue operations were launched, leading to the recovery of the bodies of the fallen soldiers.

The brave soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Naib Subedar Ramesh Lal, Havaldar Mahendra Singh, Haveldar Vijay Kumar, Naik N Chandra Sekhar, Naik Tejpal, Grenader Man Mohan, Grenader Ankit, Grenader Tarandeep Singh, and Grenader Bhoite Vaibhav. In response to this tragic incident, General Officer Commanding Fire and Fury Corps paid tribute to the fallen heroes, offering heartfelt condolences to their grieving families.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “I am extremely pained by the loss of lives of Army personnel in a tragic accident in Ladakh.” He acknowledged their supreme sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation, assuring that their memory will forever endure. “My heartfelt condolences to bereaved families in this hour of grief. Prayers for the early recovery of the injured,” he added.

Mehbooba Mufti, President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), also extended her condolences to the families of the departed soldiers. She expressed profound sorrow over the tragic road accident that unfolded in Ladakh.

Army jawan Vaibhav Bhoite from Satara dies in accident in Ladakh

Satara, Aug 20: The somber news of the road accident deeply impacted the district of Satara as Army jawan Vaibhav Sampatrao Bhoite, a resident of Rajale village in Phaltan tehsil, was among those who lost their lives. The convoy of three Army vehicles was traversing through Ladakh when disaster struck, plunging their vehicle into a deep gorge near Kiyari in Ladakh. The resulting loss of life and injuries cast a pall of sadness over the region.

As the news of Bhoite’s demise spread, his native Rajarale village and the entire district mourned his loss, evident by the closure of shops and businesses. The body of jawan Vaibhav is anticipated to arrive in Rajale village on Monday afternoon, where the final rites will be conducted with full military honors, as confirmed by district administration sources.
