“Hindi Pakhwada Special Issue” Magazine Unveiled by Principal Controller (Defence Accounts) Southern Command, Pune

The Third All India Official Language Conference and National Hindi Day were celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm at the Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium, Balewadi, Pune, on September 14th and 15th, 2023. During this momentous occasion, on September 15th, 2023, at 12:30 pm, Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, PCDA(SC) Pune, unveiled the “Hindi Pakhwada Special Issue” magazine. The event saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including the Honorable Governor of Kerala A.M. Khan, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Smt. Anshuli Arya IAS, Secy(Official Language) & Meenakshi Joll, Jt. Secy(Official Language), A.S. Rajiv, Managing Director Ajay Kumar Mishra, Chief Executive Officer, Bank of Maharashtra, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IOB, and other senior officers of the Government of India.

The “Hindi Pakhwada Special Issue” magazine encompasses activities related to the celebration and observance of Hindi Fortnight, held from September 1st, 2023, to September 8th, 2023, at PCDA(SC) Pune and 106 sub-offices falling under the jurisdiction of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Southern Command), Pune. These activities included a Hindi seminar, panel discussions, an open house on linguistic chauvinism, and various competitions such as Hindi essay writing, Hindi self-composed poetry, Hindi poster design, Hindi debates, and Hindi quizzes. All these events were organized under the guidance and leadership of PCDA(SC) and Hindi Kaksha Rajbhasha Cell Pune.

The magazine prominently features outstanding essays from the winners of the Hindi essay writing competition, which, for the first time, was open to employees across the organization. The essay topics, “राष्ट्र के माथे की बिंदी: राजभाषा हिन्दी” and “जय राजभाषा – जय हिन्द,” have clarified and illuminated the realm of official language, offering contemporary insights and perspectives on the subject.

Furthermore, the magazine showcases creative and artistic poetry from participants representing various regions such as Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa in the Hindi self-composed poetry competition. This competition, too, was open to all employees of the organization. The winning entries from the Hindi Poster Competition, held within the Principal Controller (Defence Accounts) Southern Command, Pune, are also featured in the magazine.

Distinguished dignitaries praised the “Hindi Pakhwada Special Issue” as a valuable contribution to the promotion and propagation of the Official Language. They commended the sincere efforts of Principal Controller (Defence Accounts), Southern Command, Pune, in fulfilling constitutional responsibilities and enhancing interest and proficiency in making Hindi a prominent language in official dealings. The magazine stands as an inspirational testament for readers and Central Government employees alike.

This magazine marks a significant milestone as a fortnightly publication in the central government. Dr. Rajeev S. Chavan, IDAS, ndc, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Southern Command) Pune, expressed his sincere gratitude to all dignitaries and attendees at the grand event. He emphasized the magazine’s importance in eliminating language barriers, fostering interest, and propagating the spirit of Hindi among employees. Dr. Chavan also stressed the need to make Hindi a global language and expand its presence on the global stage, given that more than 60% of Indians speak, read, and write Hindi, making it the world’s third most spoken language. This endeavor has long been awaited and is a distant dream that must now be pursued with determination.
