Corps Of Signals Marks 114th Raising Day, Recognizing a Century of Communication Excellence

Pune: The Corps of Signals of the Indian Army commemorated its 114th Raising Day on February 15, 2024, reflecting on a century of exceptional service in transforming military communications. The occasion was marked by celebrations across Signal units in the Southern Command, bringing together serving personnel, their families, and esteemed ex-servicemen.

Established on February 15, 1911, the Corps of Signals has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing Indian Army communications, adapting to the evolving digital landscape of the 21st century. Over the past three decades, significant strides have been made in computing, information technology, and communication, all effectively harnessed by the Corps of Signals to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of operations in the digitized battlespace. Today, the Corps stands well-equipped to leverage state-of-the-art communication techniques to meet the diverse and challenging requirements of the Indian Army across the entire spectrum of conflict.

The Corps of Signals bears the crucial responsibility of providing the Indian Army with both peace-time static communications and combat communications during operations. To address the dynamic communication needs of the Indian Army, the Corps has established a nationwide army-owned network, ensuring reliable and responsive real-time communication – a commitment that aligns with their motto “Teevra Chaukas,” meaning “Swift and Sure.”

Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, extended his heartfelt wishes to the serving and retired personnel of the Corps of Signals.
