Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival to Enthrall Audiences in Pune

Pune, 13th June 2023: The much-awaited Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival, jointly organized by the Kalashree Sangeet Mandal and Aundh Social Foundation, under the leadership of Abhijit Gaikwad, is set to captivate music lovers at the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir in Aundh. The festival will take place from June 16th to 18th, with timings scheduled from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on all days. Celebrating its 10th edition, the festival welcomes everyone on a first come first serve basis, with no entry fee.

The festival will kick off with a mesmerizing flute performance by Siddhant Kamble, a talented disciple of Pandit Keshav Ginde. Following this, the audience will be treated to the soulful renditions of renowned vocalists Pandit Sudhakar Chavan and Vidushi Manjusha Patil.

On the second day of the festival, attendees will have the pleasure of experiencing the enchanting vocals of Kishori Janorikar, the soul-stirring sounds of Shantanu Gokhale on the santoor, and the captivating vocal performance of Pandit Shaunak Abhisheki. The final day of the festival will showcase the extraordinary talent of Viraj Joshi with his mesmerizing vocals, the melodious flute playing of Deepak Bhanuse, and the soulful renditions of Aarti Anklikar Tikekar.

Throughout the festival, the main artists will be accompanied by a talented group of musicians, including Suyog Kundalkar, Prabhakar Pandav, Avinash Dighe, Uday Kulkarni, Gangadhar Shinde, Bharat Kamat, Prashant Pandav, Pandurang Pawar, Avinash Patil, Kishor Korde, Nandkishor Dhore, Nilesh Randive, Kartik Swami, Yash Trishran, and Gambhir Maharaj. Akash Thite will serve as the host for the entire duration of the festival, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for the audience.

In recognition of their significant contributions to the world of music, the prestigious Pandit Bhimsen Joshi award, instituted by the Kalashree Sangeet Mandal, will be bestowed upon Prof Vishwas Jadhav, the Registrar of the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharv Mahavidyalay. This esteemed award, presented in the form of a memento and a cash prize of Rs. 11,000/-, will be conferred on the first day of the festival.
