Tragic Incident Unfolds as 10-Year-Old Girl Dies After Consuming Online Ordered Birthday Cake

Patiala Family Devastated by Loss Amidst Heartbreaking Birthday Celebration

A heart-wrenching tragedy struck a family in Patiala, Punjab, as their daughter’s birthday celebration turned into a nightmare. The family’s 10-year-old girl, Manvi, tragically lost her life after consuming a cake ordered online for her birthday festivities.

According to reports, the family recounted that Manvi passed away shortly after partaking in the birthday cake, while other family members also fell ill after consuming the same cake. The incident unfolded on March 24, leaving the family in shock and grief.

Narrating the harrowing experience, Manvi’s grandfather shared details of the evening, stating that the family ordered the cake around 6 pm and celebrated Manvi’s birthday at approximately 7 pm. However, by 11 pm, the entire family had fallen ill, with two younger daughters experiencing vomiting. While the youngest daughter, Preman, managed to survive after vomiting the cake, tragically, Manvi could not be saved.

In response to the devastating incident, legal action has been initiated against the bakery shop owner responsible for the cake. The bakery owner has been booked under Sections 273 and 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which address offenses related to causing danger to life or negligence leading to death.

As the family grapples with the profound loss of their beloved daughter, authorities continue their investigations to ascertain the cause of the tragic incident. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of stringent quality control measures in food production and delivery processes, especially in the context of online ordering and consumption.
