Social Security Cell of Crime Branch apprehends 19 Bangladeshis for staying illegally in Pune

PUNE: The Social Security Cell (SSC) of the Pune police Crime Branch carried out a major operation on Thursday night against 19 Bangladeshis including 10 women for illegally staying in the city. All of them have been apprehended and further legal action is being taken against them, according to available information.

The SSC had got information that 10 Bangladeshi girls and nine Bangladeshi men were staying in the red light area of Pune after entering the country illegally and they did not have any documents to prove that they were Indian nationals. The information was verified.

A team of SSC raided the Budhwar Peth area under the guidance of senior officials and they found 10 Bangladeshi women and nine men. They have been apprehended and an FIR has been registered against them at the Faraskhana police station.

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale and DCP Amol Zende by Sr PI Bharat Jadhav, API Aniket Pote, API Rajesh Malegave policemen Amey Rasal, Sagar Kekan, Rajendra Kumawat, Babaso Karpe, Tushar Bhivarkar, Amit Jamdade and policewoman Manisha Pukale.
