Residents of Kalyani Nagar express deep concerns about recurring disturbances near DMart Road, driven by the presence of pubs, hawkers, and nighttime gatherings. Monica Sharma, a Sound Activist from Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar, emphasizes the urgency of addressing these issues. She notes that the disturbances, particularly near nighttime, have led to heightened fears among residents, especially women. The call for immediate intervention aims to create an environment where residents can live peacefully without compromising their safety.
Residents Speak Out:
Witnesses to these incidents highlight the frequency of fights and disturbances, with one resident sharing accounts of two such incidents in the last three months. These disturbances often involve scantily dressed individuals dancing and drinking in the early morning hours, leaving a trail of concern and chaos in their wake.
Management Denials:
In response to the accusations, the manager of Elrow Club, Sanjay Gurang, denies the involvement of Elrow in the incident, stating that the bouncers in question are society/building security personnel. However, conflicting statements arise, with Vittal Jiwade, Night Security in charge of Cerebrum IT Park, noting that the incident involved Elrow Club bouncers and some from Cerebrum IT Park.
Law Enforcement Response:
The Yerwada Police Station, when approached with the issue, expressed unawareness of the situation. Balkrishna Kadam, Police Inspector, stated that if such issues are reported, the police will investigate and, if necessary, patrol the area to ensure the safety of residents.
