Pune News : In a disturbing incident on FC Road in Pune, a group of six intoxicated men riding on two motorcycles targeted women with water balloons, sending shockwaves through the community and sparking calls for swift justice.
The incident occurred just days before the festive celebration of Holi, traditionally known as the festival of colors. Witnesses reported that three men were riding on a single motorcycle, a violation of traffic regulations, as they hurled water balloons at unsuspecting women passing by. The brazen act left bystanders alarmed and dismayed, shattering the festive atmosphere.
A bystander captured the reprehensible act on video as the bikers swiftly disappeared into the crowd following their attacks on women with balloons.
The appalling incident has cast a shadow over the once vibrant and bustling FC Road, leaving residents deeply concerned about the safety of women in public spaces.
Expressing her dismay, a witness recounted, “I was taken aback by the behavior of these young men. FC Road is typically a lively area where young people gather, but now it feels unsafe for girls. While out shopping with my friends, I witnessed these individuals targeting girls with balloons. The onlookers were visibly displeased. The perpetrators must be apprehended and held accountable. Authorities must take measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.”
Dr. Neelam Gorhe, a leader from the Maharashtra Legislative Council, has condemned the incident, describing it as alarming. She has urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation, reaching out to them via email and requesting access to security camera footage. Dr. Gorhe recently engaged with the police to address various issues plaguing the city, particularly concerning traffic.
