Pune: Youth assaulted for not contributing for Ganesh festival in SPPU staff quarters

PUNE: An incident of a youth being brutally assaulted for not giving contribution for celebrating Ganesh festival, took place at staff quarters of SPPU. The Chatuhshrungi police have registered an FIR against three persons. The accused have been identified as Dinesh Walmiki (30), Prateek Malhari (23), both residents of staff quarters and Umesh (25), a resident of Aundh. Krishna Kishor Tamboli (35), a resident of staff quarters has lodged a complaint at the Chatuhshrungi police station.

According to the police, Tamboli and the accused, Walmiki and Malhari, stay in the staff quarters. Walmiki and Malhari demanded money from Tamboli as a contribution for the Ganesh festival. Tamboli refused to pay money and told them that he had given money to a big mandal in the staff quarters. There was an argument between them. Walmiki, Malhari and their accomplices brutally assaulted Tamboli with a stick. Police Naik Raikar is probing the case.
