In preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and the festive season, the Kondhwa Police in Pune conducted a comprehensive route march across several areas under their jurisdiction. The initiative aimed to bolster security measures and uphold law and order during a period marked by significant civic events and celebrations, including Ramadan Eid, Holi, Good Friday, Mahaveer Jayanti, and more.
Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane of the Kondhwa Police Station provided insights into the route march conducted on March 21, 2024. The march, which commenced at 5:40 PM from the Kondhwa Police Station, traversed through various key locations within the Kondhwa Police Station limits.
The route encompassed strategic points such as Tuba Masjid, City Lawns, Pargenagar, Omakar Garden, Welcome Hall Chowk, Life Line Hospital, Kausarbagh Masjid, NIBM Road, Mayfair Ellingja Society Chowk, Bhimnagar, Vithal Mandir, Kondhwa Gavthan, and Ashirvad Chowk, among others. The march concluded its circuitous path back at the Kondhwa Police Station by 6:45 PM.
The deployment for the route march included police inspector (crime), assistant police inspectors, police sub-inspectors from the Kondhwa police station, as well as 20 police enforcers and a CISF platoon. Following the completion of the march, officers and enforcers received comprehensive briefings, marking the conclusion of the operation.
The route march signifies the proactive measures undertaken by law enforcement authorities to ensure the safety and security of citizens during critical junctures, such as elections and festive occasions. By maintaining a visible presence and conducting patrols across key areas, the Kondhwa Police reaffirms its commitment to upholding public order and fostering a sense of security within the community.
