Pune: In the wake of Dahi Handi, Warje Malwadi police while patrolling in the area arrested two history-sheeters and seized two pistols and seven cartridges. Two iron weapons were seized from their minor accomplices after being detained. The action was initiated by Warje Malwadi police on August 25.
The two accused has been identified as Suraj Shivaji Bharde (23) a resident of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Colony at Rahulnagar in Shivane in Pune, Aniket Anurath Adamane (21) a resident of Pandurang Apartment at Warje Malwadi in Pune. The two minor children who were part of the gang were also detained. A case has been registered in this matter at Warje Malwadi police station.
In the background of Dahi Handi, the police officers and staff of the investigation team were patrolling in the limits of Warje Malwadi police station to prevent the problem of law and order. At that time, police officer Shrikant Bhangre got information that the accused Suraj Bharde and his minor accomplice were standing on the NDA ground behind the Dhangarbaba bus stop and Bharde was holding a pistol. According to police, police sub-inspector Narendra Munde and the team laid a trap and detained the accused Suraj Bharde and searched him. An iron weapon was found with the minor. Police have seized pistols, cartridges and iron weapons.
Meanwhile, this operation was going on when the police constable Vijay Bhuruk found Aniket Adamane standing under the bridge in front of Warje crematorium with a pistol and cartridges. Also his minor companion has an iron weapon. Based on the information received, police sub-inspector Vishal Minde and his team laid a trap and arrested Aniket Adamane and his companion. One country-made pistol and three cartridges have been seized from Aniket. An iron weapon has been seized from the minor. Police have seized two pistols, 7 cartridges, two iron weapons by carrying out two operations on the same day.
