Pune: Two arrested for trying to rob money from Krishna petrol pump manager in Baramati

Pune: The Baramati police succeeded in arresting the two accused who attacked and tried to rob money from the manager of Krishna petrol pump two days back when he was going to deposit the money in the bank on Patas Road in Baramati. The accused also threatened the manager by pointing a pistol to him. Both the accused have been arrested within 48 hours of the incident. One accomplice is still absconding and the police officials are searching for him.

According to the police sources, the local crime branch and the city police jointly held the operation arrested the accused who has been identified as Sonya alias Abhishek Dattatray Gawde a resident of Medad in Baramati and Akshay Balu Dahinje a resident of Satwajinagar in Baramati. Akshay used to work at the petrol pump.

On Monday, August 7 Mayur Balasaheb Shinde (32) manager of the Krishna Petrol pump which is located on Patas Road and owned by senior corporator Kiran Gujar, went on his bike to deposit the money collected at the pump tp Baramati Sahakari Bank on Saturday and Sunday. At this time, two unknown men came on their bike with masks on their faces and stopped Shinde’s bike and tried to grab the bag containing money Rs 1.99 lakh from him. However, Shinde strongly resisted both the accused and did not give the bag. The accused in anger hitted Shinde on the head with the side of their pistol but Shinde did not leave the bag. As the passers-by started stopping to stop the fight the accused fled from the spot.

Understanding the seriousness of the case the upper superintendent of police Anand Bhoite, sub-divisional police officer Ganesh Ingle immediately visited the spot and suggested investigation. A case was registered against unknown persons at the city police station. A seriously injured Shinde was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The incident was being investigated by the local crime branch and city police under the guidance of superintendent of police Ankit Goyal, upper superintendent Anand Bhoite and sub-divisional officer Ganesh Ingle.

The support of Baramati taluka, Bhigwan, Vadgaon Nimbalkar police station was taken and accordingly through technical analysis two accused were arrested. The weapons and vehicle used in the crime by the accused were recovered. Police are searching for one of the accused who is still absconding.

The action was initiated by senior police inspector Avinash Shilimakar, City Police inspector Dinesh Tayade, assistant inspector Sachin Kale, Prakash Waghmare, Dilip Pawar, Gandhare, Gawde, sub-inspector Amit Sid Patil, assistant fauzdar Raviraj Kokre, Balasaheb Karande, Abhijit Ekshinge, Swapnil Ahiwale, Raju Momeen, Sagar Kshirsagar, Ajit Bhijbal, Vijay Knachan, Ajay Ghule, Balasaheb Khadke, Atul Dere, Guru Jadhav, Ramdas Babar, Kashinath Rajapure along with City police officials Akshay Sitaf, Manoj Pawar, Sagar Jamdar, Dashrath Ingole, Yashwant Pawar and Sachin Kokane.
