Pune, 28th June 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pune Police has scored a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking. In a well-executed operation near Roshan Masjid in Bhavani Peth, the squad successfully apprehended a drug dealer and seized approximately 52 grams of MD drugs, with an estimated value of over Rs 10 lakh.
According to Police Inspector Sunil Thopte, the arrested individual has been identified as Mujahid Anwar Sheikh, a 25-year-old resident of Bhawani Peth in Pune. The arrest came as a result of meticulous planning and intelligence gathering by the police team.
During a routine patrol aimed at combating drug abuse, Police Naik Sahil Shaikh and Police Constable Azim Shaikh received vital information about Mujahid Sheikh, who was allegedly involved in drug peddling near Roshan Masjid. Acting swiftly on this tip-off, the police officers set up a well-coordinated trap and conducted a raid, leading to the successful arrest of the suspect. Upon searching him, a significant quantity of narcotics was discovered in his possession.
The accused has been booked under the NDPC Act, and a case has been registered against him at Samarth Police Station.
