Pune, 21st June 2023: In a major operation, the Crime Branch Unit 3 of the Pune Police successfully dismantled a country liquor production setup located on the bank of a stream in Koyali village of Khed taluka. The operation took place on Monday evening, around 5 pm.
Police Commissioner Yogeshwar Kolekar has lodged a complaint regarding the matter at the Alandi Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against a woman believed to be involved in the illegal liquor production.
According to the police, the accused woman had established a furnace on the stream’s bank to manufacture country liquor. Acting on reliable information, the police conducted a raid on the premises, resulting in the destruction of approximately two thousand liters of raw chemicals with an estimated value of one lakh rupees. The Alandi police have taken up the investigation into the case.
Illegal liquor production poses a serious threat to public health and safety, leading law enforcement agencies to take strict action against such activities. The Pune Police’s crackdown on the illicit country liquor production in Khed is a significant step towards curbing the production and distribution of illegal substances in the region.
