PUNE: Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has taken a detainment action against a woman selling hooch in the limits of Loni Kalbhor police station under the MPDA Act. This is the 41st action taken by the police commissioner.
The accused has been identified as Saraswati Santosh Rathod (36), a resident of Haveli taluka, Pune district. The accused is a notorious criminal and she has committed crimes such as preparing hooch and selling it with her accomplices. Her criminal actions were posing a risk to the health and lives of citizens. Local residents were scared of complaining against her because of her rein of terror.
Four FIRs are registered against the accused, Saraswati Rathod, in five years. A proposal of detainment action was sent to the police commissioner. The CP examined the proposal and documents and issued orders that the accused, Saraswati Rathod, should be detained at the Kolhapur Central Jail for a year.
The action was taken by senior PI Dattatraya Chavan of Loni Kalbhor police station and senior PI AT Khobare of PCB Crime Branch. The CP has taken detainment action against 41 criminals under the MPDA Act. Such action will be taken in the future also.
