Pune Authorities Bust Illegal Liquor Trade in Koregaon’s Nursery

Koregaon, Pune: In a recent crackdown, authorities have uncovered an illegal liquor trade operation within the jurisdiction of Koregaon’s Gram Panchayat. Two individuals, identified as Rajendra Chaudhari and an unnamed landowner, have been charged in connection with the case. The police seized a significant quantity of raw materials and finished illicit liquor, with a total value of Rs. 6,45,050.

Acting on a tip-off, Senior Police Inspector Shankar Patil and his team conducted a raid on a nursery in Koregaon, where large-scale illicit liquor manufacturing was taking place. The operation resulted in the arrest of Kayadu Rathod, who attempted to flee but was apprehended by the police. Rathod is now facing charges related to the production process.

During the raid, authorities confiscated 5,000 litres of raw chemicals and 525 litres of finished illicit liquor. Investigations further revealed that Rajendra Chaudhari was allegedly involved in the sale of the illicit liquor to unsuspecting customers in the vicinity. A case has been registered against the landowner at the Uruli Kanchan police station.

The successful operation was carried out by the team of Uruli Kanchan Police Station, including Senior Police Inspector Shankar Patil, Police Sub-Inspector Sudhir Padule, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Pramod Navale, Police Constables Mahendra Gaikwad, Ranjit Nikam, Sachin Jagtap, Manisha Kutwal, and Police Naik Pramod Gaikwad.
