Police Chief Retesh Kumaar Takes Action Against Criminal Gang and Associates under MCOCA in Pune

Pune: Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has initiated legal proceedings against Mangesh Mane, along with four of his associates, who have been responsible for creating a reign of terror in Sai Nagar lane number two in Kondhwa area. This marks the 29th operation conducted against criminal gangs by the police chief.

Under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), action has been taken against Mangesh Anil Mane (26), a resident of Bibvewadi, Pawan Ravindra Rathod (23), a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, Sagar Krishna Jadhav (30), a resident of Saswad, Abhijit alias Jabya Suresh Dudhnikar (21), a resident of Gokul Nagar, and Suraj Patil. While Pawan Rathod and Abhijit alias Jabya Dudhnikar have been arrested and are currently in Yerawada Jail, gang leader Mangesh Mane, Suresh Patil, and Sagar Jadhav remain at large.

The accused individuals carried out a vicious assault on a young man with a sickle, intending to take his life on March 27, 2023, in lane number two of Sai Nagar. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Kondhwa police station. Mangesh Mane, as the leader of the gang, was involved in various criminal activities, including robbery, murder, attempted murder, and causing grievous harm.

Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane of the Kondhwa police station submitted a proposal through Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vikrant Deshmukh to Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ranjankumar Sharma, requesting action against the Mane gang under MCOCA. After careful examination, the police chief has taken decisive action against the Mane gang under MCOCA. To date, the police chief has invoked MCOCA against a total of 29 organized criminal groups.

Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, along with Senior PI Santosh Sonawane, PI Sanjay Mogale, PI Sandeep Bhosale, API Vishwas Bhabad, and members of the surveillance unit including policeman Jagdish Patil, Rajendra Nanavare, Nitin Chavan, and Hanmant Rupnavar, played instrumental roles in executing this operation.
