MIDC’s Assistant Engineer Kishor Gaikwad and Executive Engineer Ganesh Wagh arrested by ACB for accepting ₹1 crore

AHMEDNAGAR: Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation’s (MIDC) Assistant Engineer Kishor Gaikwad and the then Executive Engineer Ganesh Wagh, who is now working in Dhule, have landed in ACB net for taking a bribe of ₹1 crore. The ACB took this action on Friday night. The incident has created a flutter.

The complainant had submitted a bill seeking ₹2.66 crore i.e Five per cent of ₹31.57 crore expenditure for changing the iron pipeline of 1,000 mm diameter in Ahmednagar MIDC and security deposit submitted earlier seeking signatures of Ganesh Wagh and Kishor Gaikwad and Ganesh Wagh had demanded ₹1 crore on October 20, 2023.

Since the complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he had lodged a complaint with the ACB. The complaint was verified and a trap was laid. After ₹1 crore was accepted as a bribe, the FIR has been registered.

The action was taken under the guidance of Addl DGP of ACB IPS Vishwas Nangre Patil, SP Sharmistha Gharge-Walawalkar, Addl SP Madhav Reddy, DySP Narendra Pawar by PI Swapnil Rajput, Police Naik Prabhakar Gawli, Sandip Hangde, Kiran Dhule and Suresh Chavan.
