Maharashtra ATS Nabs Ratnagiri Resident for Extending Support to Terrorism Suspect

Terrorist Arrest In Pune

PUNE: The Maharashtra ATS has arrested a man from Ratnagiri for providing financial help to a man for harbouring two terrorists in Kondhwa, who had been arrested in Kothrud. The Pune police had arrested two youths on July 18 on suspicion of being involved in terror activities. Now, action has been taken by Maharashtra ATS.

The Pune police had arrested Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yakub Saki (24) and Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yusuf Khan (23), both residing at Kondhwa and hailing from Madhya Pradesh on the morning of July 18. Their accomplice Mohammad Shahnawaz Alam (31) is absconding. The ATS has arrested a man for providing help to the two terrorists after they arrived in Pune on July 26 (Wednesday). After he was produced in the court, the court remanded him in police custody.

Maharashtra ATS was searching for the person who had provided monetary help to the accused who had given shelter to the two accused. The ATS team had called a man hailing from Ratnagiri for questioning. After he was questioned, his involvement in the case became clear and he has been arrested.

A police team which had gone to another state as a part of the investigation, has sent a notice to a man to visit Pune for questioning. After he comes to the city, he will be questioned about his involvement. Maharashtra ATS is trying to locate the absconding accomplice of the terrorists and people who are helping him.
