Legal Community Unites: Pimpri Chinchwad Advocates Protest Heinous Murder of Colleague Couple

Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Advocates Bar Association organized a solemn protest at Pimpri Court, expressing profound grief and condemning the brutal murder of Advocate Rajaram Adhav and his wife Advocate Manisha Adhav. The couple, dedicated legal professionals working at Rahuri Court in Ahmednagar district, went missing on January 25, 2024.

The police investigation revealed that the couple had been abducted and tragically killed. In response to this shocking incident, the legal community gathered for a protest meeting at Pimpri Court. Former president of Pimpri Chinchwad Advocates Bar Association, Adv SB Chandak, along with several prominent lawyers, passionately condemned the heinous act.

Voices of dissent and sorrow echoed as Adv Sushil Mancharkar, Adv Devrao Dhale, Adv Ashok Bhatewara, Adv Raju Madhavan, Adv Kiran Pawar, Former Vice President Adv Datta Zhuluk, Advocate Naveen Wale, senior lawyer Advocate Satyan Nair, Advocate Sarika Pardeshi, Secretary of Pune Lawyers Society Atish Landge, and others spoke out during the protest.

Adv. Ramraje Bhosle, the president of Pimpri Chinchwad Advocates Bar Association, emphasized the urgency of collective action and announced the participation of a significant number of lawyers from Pimpri Chinchwad in the upcoming protest organized by the Indian Lawyers Federation. Demands were raised, including the passage of the Advocates (Protection) Bill, 2021, a fast-track trial for the case, and the imposition of the death sentence on the accused.

The protest meeting, organized by the Pimpri Chinchwad Advocates Bar Association, under the leadership of Adv. Ramraje Bhosle, Vice president Adv. Pratiksha Khilari, Secretary Adv. Dhananjay Kokane, Joint Secretary Adv. Umesh Khandare, and other members, showcased the legal fraternity’s solidarity and determination to seek justice for the slain lawyer couple. The incident highlighted the pressing need for stringent measures to protect legal professionals.
