Late Night Clash Takes a Dangerous Turn: Stone Attack Leads to Attempted Murder in Pune

Pune: Two people had an altercation on Sunday at around 12.15 a.m. at Kumbharwada Chowk ground in Rastapeth and Mundhwa, where one individual attempted to kill another by hitting a stone on his head.

In this regard, Abhishek Shankar Gaikar (30), a resident of Railway Gate No. 1, Bopodi, Pune, has filed a complaint at Samarth Police Station.

As per the police, the accused, Sohail Salim Mulla (22), a resident of SRA Building, Vimannagar, Pune, and the plaintiff, Abhishek Gaikar, had some arguments over the girlfriend. After that, the accused, Sohail Mulla, assaulted the plaintiff with his hands and legs. In a further argument, the accused threw one cement block towards the plaintiff with the intention of terminating him.

Fortunately, the plaintiff was narrowly saved as he missed the stone. Furthermore, the accused also took the plaintiff to Kumbharwada Chowk in Mundhwa and further assaulted him with a leather belt. After this, the plaintiff filed a complaint against the accused at Samarth Police Station.

Accordingly, Samarth Police registered a case against the accused and his accomplices under IPC 307, 365, 324, 323, 504, 506, and 34 and initiated further investigations into the case. During the investigation, police found that the accused is a habitual offender and that he is an on-record criminal. Samarth Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
