Fugitive Arrested in Pune: Entered City Without Permission and Carrying Dangerous Weapon

The Kondhwa Police have successfully apprehended a fugitive individual on February 10, 2024, for unauthorized entry into Pune city and possession of a sharp and dangerous weapon. The arrest was made following vigilant efforts by the police force to locate the wanted criminal.

Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector at Kondhwa Police Station, shared further details about the arrest. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonwane and Police Inspector (Crime) Mansingh Patil had issued an order to trace the accused who was wanted by the Kondhwa Police Station and take appropriate action.

Acting on this order, Lekhaji Shinde, Assistant Police Inspector at Kondhwa Police Station, and the investigation team consistently worked to ascertain the whereabouts of the fugitive accused.

On February 10, 2024, Police Constable Amol Hirve received reliable information indicating that Arbaz Patel, the wanted criminal, was located in an under-construction building near P.J.K.M. School, opposite Lane 3, Kakdevasti, Pune.

Upon reaching the location, the investigation team discovered a person sleeping in the under-construction building, confirming the identity of the accused as Arbaz Ahmed Patel. During the arrest, an iron sickle-like weapon was found under his bed and subsequently seized by the police.

Despite being restrained from entering Pune by Pune City Police Commissionerate, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, and Pune district limits, Arbaz Patel entered the city without obtaining legal permission and was apprehended carrying a weapon.

A case has been filed against him at Kondhwa Police Station, and he is now under arrest.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Pune Police, Manoj Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police, Eastern Regional Division, R Raja, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ward 05, Santosh Sonwane, Senior Inspector of Police, Mansingh Patil, Inspector of Police (Crime), with the efforts of Assistant Police Inspector Lekhaji Shinde, Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil, and police officers Amol Hirve, Abhijit Ratnaparkhi, Jaydev Bhosle, Vikas Margale, Rahul Thorat, Suhas More, Abhijit Jadhav, Ashish Garud, Rohit Patil.
