Crackdown on Vehicle Theft: Hinjewadi Police Arrest Accused and Recover 18 Stolen Bikes

Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune: In a significant development in the crime-busting efforts, Hinjewadi Police have successfully apprehended the culprits involved in a vehicle theft case originating from Parbhani in the Pandavnagar area of Hinjewadi. The accused, identified as Ravi Parameshwara Dhandge and Vikas Uddhav Dhandge, both hailing from Pathargavan, Pathari, District Parbhani, were arrested, and the police have seized 18 two-wheelers with an estimated worth of Rs 5 lakh 40 thousand from them.

The investigation into the case began when a two-wheeler was stolen in broad daylight in front of a company on July 19, leading to the registration of a case at the Hinjewadi Police Station. Subsequently, the police reviewed CCTV footage from the Hinjewadi to Supa region, which revealed a recurring pattern of vehicle thefts within the limits of Hinjewadi and Wakad police stations.

Determined to apprehend the culprits, the police team meticulously checked 350 CCTV footage in the area. Police Constable Palve played a crucial role in providing vital information about the suspect’s identity. It was revealed that the suspect, Ravi Dhandge, was frequently traveling from Pathargavan in Parbhani district to Pandavnagar area of Hinjewadi, stealing two-wheelers, and then transporting them to the village.

Based on the information provided, the police took Ravi Dhandge into custody. During interrogation, Ravi confessed to selling the stolen two-wheelers to Vikas Dhandge. The police then detained Vikas Dhandge, and upon investigation, it was revealed that Ravi had stolen multiple two-wheelers, while Uddhav Dhandge was involved in selling the stolen vehicles to farmers, promising to provide vehicle documents within two days.

Further investigation revealed that Uddhav had sold the stolen two-wheelers to 15 people. The police also discovered that Ravi had stored three more stolen two-wheelers at his relatives’ house. The investigation also pointed to multiple vehicle thefts committed in different police station jurisdictions, including Hinjewadi, Wakad, Sahakar Nagar, Vishram Bagh, Selu, Manawat, Nanalpet, Majalgaon, and more.

Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-2 Kakasaheb Dole, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Vishal Hire, Senior PI Vivek Muglikar along with a dedicated team of officers and constables, played a crucial role in apprehending the culprits and recovering the stolen vehicles.
