In a shocking incident captured on CCTV, a 31-year-old man, identified as Avinash Dhanve, was brutally attacked and hacked to death while dining at an eatery in Pune. The gruesome murder, which occurred at Hotel Jagadamba near Indapur on the Pune-Solapur Highway, has sent shockwaves through the region. Dhanve, known for his involvement in several criminal cases, fell victim to what police suspect to be a fallout of gang warfare.
According to authorities, the assailants, identified as eight individuals through CCTV footage, stormed the eatery armed with guns and sickles. In the chilling video, Dhanve can be seen seated with three others when the attackers approach him from behind. Without warning, they open fire, causing panic among the diners. Subsequently, six more assailants wielding sickles and machetes join in the assault, mercilessly hacking Dhanve to death.
The swift and brutal nature of the attack left onlookers in shock, with guests fleeing the scene as the assailants made their escape. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, Dhanve succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Police officials have confirmed that the incident occurred around 8 p.m. and have attributed Dhanve’s murder to ongoing gang rivalries in the area. Pune Rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh assured the public that the case has been swiftly investigated, expressing confidence in apprehending the perpetrators and ensuring justice for the victim.
