Kerala Railway Authorities Take Action Following Assault Incident

The Railway Police in Kerala have promptly responded to an incident aboard the Jan Shatabdi Express, registering a case following an attack on a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) earlier today.

The assault took place during the train’s journey from Thiruvananthapuram Central station to Kannur, when a beggar, reportedly soliciting on the train, assaulted the TTE after being asked to show a ticket.

The complaint was filed by TTE Jason Thomas, detailing the incident as a case of physical assault and obstruction of work. According to the FIR, the beggar physically attacked the TTE when approached for ticket verification.

Eyewitnesses recounted that TTE Jaison Thomas instructed the accused, seated near the train door, to disembark at the station. However, the situation escalated when the accused refused and proceeded to attack the TTE, scratching his face before fleeing from the moving train.

Following the assault, Jaison sustained a minor cut near his left eye and received medical attention at a nearby hospital.

The Railway Police have launched an investigation into the incident, utilizing CCTV footage and other available evidence to apprehend the culprit and ensure justice prevails.
