Breaking the Silence: Pune VP’s Fight Against Workplace Harassment

In a shocking turn of events, a 47-year-old vice president of a Pune-based insurance company has filed a complaint of sexual harassment against her senior colleagues. The Yerwada Police have registered a case against four senior officials from the company in response to the victim’s allegations.

According to the victim’s complaint, officials from the finance, administration, and legal compliance departments, along with another senior colleague, have been booked under relevant sections by the Yerwada Police.

The victim alleges that the accused pressured her to accept and immediately process the resignation of one of her junior colleagues. When she refused, the accused threatened to release recorded calls involving her. The victim claims to have been targeted because she blew the whistle on a financial fraud committed by the accused.

The incidents unfolded between October and November 2023. On November 8, 2023, one of the accused allegedly called the victim to a coffee shop to resolve the matter. During the discussion, the victim claims she was sexually molested, and she was further threatened with termination from her job.

Despite being the wife of an Army officer, the accused faced resistance when attempting to file a complaint with the Yerwada Police. Feeling frustrated, the victim approached the Police Commissioner and detailed the entire incident. Acting on the commissioner’s instructions, the Yerwada Police have now registered an FIR under sections 354, 354 A, 504, 506, and 509.
