₹1.28 crore corruption case

PUNE: The ACB Pune has registered an FIR against the then deputy commissioner and member of district caste verification committee Nitin Chandrakant Dhage (41) and his wife Pratibha Nitin Dhage (35), both residents of Wanawadi for having cash of ₹1.28 crore at the Wanawadi police station.

DySP Madhuri Bhosale has lodged a complaint regarding this. An action was taken against Nitin Dhage by ACB in 2021 by laying a trap and an FIR had been registered on October 16, 2021 against him at the Wanawadi police station. A search of his residence had led to finding of ₹1.28 crore cash. Hence, the ACB is carrying out an open enquiry against Nitin Dhage. After the enquiry, it became clear that Nitin Dhage had amassed ₹1.28 crore (47 times more than his source of income) by corrupt means.

Nitin Dhage was influenced by his wife Pratibha to indulge in corrupt practices and he has furnished wrong information to the government thereby cheating the state government. Hence, an FIR has been registered against Nitin Dhage and Pratibha Dhage at the Wanawadi police station.

Pune ACB SP Amol Tambe and Addl SP Dr. Sheetal Janve-Kharade are guiding DySP Sudam Pachorkar in carrying out a probe.
