Youth Congress Workers Face Legal Action for Protesting Against Home Minister Amit Shah

Pune, August 7, 2023: In a recent development, six Youth Congress workers from Pune have been booked by the Pune City Police for their alleged involvement in a protest against the Home Minister, Amit Shah, during his recent visit to the city. The protest was centered around the issue of Manipur, and it occurred as Shah’s convoy was passing through a city road.

The incident has led to legal action being taken against these individuals, and the city wing president of the Youth Congress, Rahul Shirsath, has also been included in the list of those booked. The case has been registered at the Chatushringi Police Station.

The Youth Congress workers reportedly expressed their dissent while Amit Shah, who also holds the Ministry of Cooperation portfolio, was in Pune to inaugurate the digital portal of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS). This incident highlights the tensions and differing perspectives that can arise during high-profile visits and public appearances by political figures.
