Woman Files Complaint Against Husband and In-Laws for Concealing His Sexual Orientation

Pune: In a recent development, a 33-year-old woman from Wadgaonsheri has filed a police complaint against her husband and in-laws, alleging that they intentionally concealed her husband’s sexual orientation before their marriage in 2023.

The woman claims to have entered into matrimony without any knowledge of her husband’s identification as gay. It was only later that she purportedly discovered this aspect of her husband’s identity. Disturbed by the revelation, she confronted her husband and in-laws, accusing them of failing to disclose this crucial information prior to their marriage.

Additionally, the complainant alleges that she faced harassment from her in-laws, who constantly demanded money from her father.

In response to the woman’s complaint, the police have initiated an FIR (first information report) to thoroughly investigate the allegations. An official from the Chandannagar police station stated, “We have issued notices to the parties concerned, and they will soon be brought in for questioning as part of the investigation.”

The police case has been registered under Sections 420, 498 (A), and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), signaling the gravity of the accusations and the potential legal consequences for the accused parties.
