In a display of unity and dissent, Punawale residents and the Pimpri Chinchwad Cooperative Housing Societies Federation (PCCHSF) recently organized a silent yet impactful demonstration against the proposed solid waste management plant by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Held at key locations including traffic signals, Latitude Mall, Koyte Vasti, Siddhasheela Society, and Punawale Highway Underpass signal, the event featured residents, IT employees, and even children holding black placards and banners to voice their opposition.
Key figures such as Sachin Londhe from PCCHSF, along with Navnath Dhawle, Sagar Lendwe, Atul Kate, Ravindra Javalkoti, Mayur Patil, Rahul Kate, and Kiran Kate, participated in the peaceful demonstration.
A Unique Protest: Silent Yet Powerful
The demonstration, marked by its unique use of black placards and banners, aimed to communicate the residents’ collective discontent with the proposed waste management plant. Future Plans: Another Bike Rally on the Horizon
Sachin Londhe, the Vice Chairman of PCCHSF, announced during the demonstration that another bike rally is on the horizon. Set for December 1, 2023, the rally’s planning will commence with a meeting scheduled for November 21, 2023, involving Punawale residents. This proactive approach indicates the determination of the residents to continue their peaceful yet assertive protests against the waste management plant proposal.
