Pune, 18th August 2023: The ‘We Love You Foundation’, a non-governmental organization affiliated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, successfully organized a ‘Global Blood Donation Campaign’ in Pune on 13th August 2023. This campaign aimed to create awareness about voluntary blood donation and garnered participation from over 350 members. The event took place at LightHouse in Yerwada.
The We Love You Foundation is committed to saving lives through this global movement, emphasizing that one person’s act of donation can potentially save and connect multiple lives, creating a positive cycle of sharing.
To ensure the safety of blood donors, Pune Sassoon Government Hospital provided essential medical personnel and supplies for the blood donation drive. On the day of the event, 130 individuals generously donated blood, contributing a total of 45,500 mL of blood.
The event was graced by esteemed guests including MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, Sushma Andhare (Shiv Sena, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Group, Deputy Leader Maharashtra State), Ex Corporators Nilesh Jathar and Ashwini Landge, Social Activists Daniel Landge and John Paul, Sunil Jadhav (Shiv Sena, Shinde Group, Sub-City Chief, Pune), Surendra Pathare (BJP, General Secretary Yuva Morcha), Manoj Shetty (AAP worker), Suhas Kamble (Shiv Sena Shinde Group Ward Head Yerawada), Manoj Thokal (MNS Sub-Division President) Vadgaonsheri, Umesh Chavan (Patient Rights Council Founder), Shashikant Tingre (Organizing Secretary Nationalist Congress Party Pune City), and Shraddha Shetty (AAM Aadmi Party Mahila Aghadi Yerwada President).
Daniel Landge, a social worker, emphasized the unique importance of every donation and stated that blood donation is a noble act that holds immense significance.
Sushmatai Andhare expressed her admiration for the We Love You Foundation’s work and conveyed her interest in joining the organization to contribute to such noble initiatives.
Allwin Anthony, a 38-year-old resident of Wanavadi, praised the dedication of We Love You Foundation members and highlighted their wholehearted participation in the blood donation camp.
Ashwini Landge, a social worker, acknowledged the significant impact of the Blood Donation Camp organized by the We Love You Foundation, stressing the crucial role of blood donation, especially in cases of fatal accidents.
