In an exclusive conversation, Girish Murudkar, a venerable Flag Shop Owner located in Budhwar Peth, shared insights into his historical establishment nestled behind the Pasodya Vithoba Mandir. With a legacy spanning approximately nine decades, this emporium meticulously crafts an array of flags tailored for various occasions, using premium Khadi and Satin materials. Available in sizes catering to all preferences and budgets, these flags range from modest Rs 30 offerings to more intricate pieces priced at Rs 30,000. While the shop has seen a steady influx of patrons seeking to embrace patriotic symbols through their purchases over the years, the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has sparked an unprecedented surge in flag procurement, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day festivities. This surge evokes a profound sense of gratification and accomplishment for the shop.

Sunil Vihani, the proprietor of Rashtriya Khadi Bhandar Shop, located in the heart of Budhwar Peth, offered his perspective on this enduring tradition. Renowned for its exclusively Khadi-based flag creations, the shop offers flags ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1000, catering to a diverse clientele. Sunil acknowledged the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative as a pivotal force invigorating flag sales, underscoring its role in fostering a renewed connection with patriotic sentiments.

Similarly, Shahrukh Shaikh, a vendor specializing in Tricolour Decorations near the Pasodya Vithoba Mandir, shed light on another aspect of the campaign’s impact. Shahrukh revealed the initiation of sales for tricolour-themed decorative materials, including vibrant buntings and assorted embellishments. With the campaign’s resonance growing stronger, Shahrukh anticipates a surge in patronage, driven by the aspiration to infuse homes and localities with patriotic fervor.
