The Railway Ministry is gearing up to introduce Vande Bharat Express trains that will soon connect Nagpur to Pune, Hyderabad, and Bhopal. This significant development was disclosed by Divisional Railway Manager Tushar Kant Pandey during a recent program under the Amrut Bharat Yojana.
Nagpur’s railway station, often referred to as the heart of the country, serves as a pivotal hub connecting regions in all four cardinal directions. Trains to major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bhopal frequently witness a surge of passengers. The demand for trains from Nagpur to Mumbai tends to be higher than those heading towards Pune, Hyderabad, and Bhopal, leading to overcrowding and a reliance on private buses for commuting.
Tushar Kant Pandey revealed that the railway authorities have conducted a comprehensive study and submitted a report to the Ministry of Railways highlighting the urgent need to introduce Vande Bharat Express trains on these specific routes. This move aims to alleviate the current issue of overcrowding and enhance the travel experience for passengers.
The Vande Bharat Express service has garnered substantial praise and popularity from passengers across various routes, particularly on the Central Railway section, which includes Maharashtra. Pandey emphasized that decisions concerning the introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains and their operational routes are entirely under the purview of the Ministry of Railways.
Currently, the Vande Bharat Express operates on the Nagpur–Bilaspur route, attracting impressive passenger response in comparison to other Central Railway Vande Bharat services. The forthcoming introduction of these high-speed trains connecting Nagpur to Pune, Hyderabad, and Bhopal is expected to mitigate the congestion on existing trains and reduce the administrative burden associated with reservations.
Encouraged by the positive demand and success of the Vande Bharat Express trains, the Ministry of Railways is proactively planning to expand these services to multiple routes. This strategic move is eagerly anticipated as a solution to the escalating passenger demand on the mentioned routes.
